Teachers

It is said that one of the noblest professions to enter is that of being a teacher. Teachers are professionals dedicated to advancing the cause of education and instilling in young minds the desire to learn. Teaching is a profession that is high in demand in the United States and many metropolitan areas are experiencing a teacher shortage. This profession is vital if our schoolchildren are to remain competitive in the world today and be prepared for the challenges of tomorrow.

Education is a process that starts early, sometimes in prekindergarten environments and continues right on up through high school and on to college. It is important that children get a good education early on so they are prepared for more advanced coursework as they progress through the educational system. Teachers serve as mentors and guides in the educational process. They instruct students and inspire them to achieve in learning and to meet and exceed educational goals. They serve as coaches who help students navigate through coursework, whether it's polynomial equations or the significance of the Magna Carta. Without them, there would be no schools, and as a result, an uneducated populous.

There is a high demand for good teachers on the marketplace today. There are many programs that are encouraging professionals in other fields such as finance and science to become teachers and share their real world expertise in the classroom. Subjects such as science and math particularly need instructors as the challenges of a high tech world become more evident. The children of today will be solving the problems of tomorrow. The U.S needs to get more competitive in terms of science and math scores to compete on an international level. There needs to be a corps of great math and science instructors who can inspire students to want to learn these important subjects so they can further their studies in college and take the high tech jobs that will be in such demand in the future.

Teachers serve the community and their students with a high degree of dedication. Besides all of the classroom hours they put in, they do a lot of planning in terms of lessons and take extra time out of their day to grade papers. Many work way after the bell rings to help students after school that may be having trouble in a certain subject. In today's world, they are unsung heroes who deserve accolades for their dedication and their service to the community.
